An intellectual journey inspired by the spirit of the Silk Road caravan — traveling from Kyrgyzstan to ancient Tashkent via Talas and Taraz.

This is a voyage along the legendary routes of the Silk Road, where caravans once carried silk, spices, and culture across continents. We begin in the scenic landscapes of Kyrgyzstan, cross the vast steppes and historic Silk Road monuments of Kazakhstan, and arrive in the ancient city of Tashkent. Along the way, we visit Talas — the land of legends about Manas — breathe in the history of caravan routes, and immerse ourselves in the rich Eastern atmosphere of ancient cities.
You will discover breathtaking nature, deep-rooted traditions, and the heritage of great civilizations.

Program

Arrival in Bishkek.
Meet & greet at the airport. Transfer to the hotel and check-in.
Meeting with the guide, briefing, and presentation of the tour program.

Dinner at an ethnic restaurant. Folklore show introducing Kyrgyz traditions and music.

Departure to the legendary city of Talas, the land of the epic Manas.

The route offers spectacular mountain landscapes. You will cross the high-altitude Suusamyr Valley, famous for its lush alpine meadows, and a mountain pass leading into the mysterious Talas Valley.

Upon arrival — hotel check-in and rest.
Later, visit the famous floodplain forest — one of the city’s natural landmarks. This former forest park consists of poplar, willow, and birch groves along the Talas River, whose branches spread across the northern part of the valley.

You will then attend a performance by a local Manaschi — a traditional Kyrgyz storyteller who recites the epic Manas.

Morning excursion to the Manas Ordo Memorial Complex.

The city of Talas was founded in 1877 by Russian settlers in the central part of the Talas Valley, on the left bank of the Talas River, on the site of an ancient settlement dating back to the Eastern Turkic Khaganate. Situated at an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level, Talas is traditionally believed to be the birthplace of the legendary hero Manas, whose epic is a cultural treasure of Kyrgyzstan.

The Talas region also played an important role on the Silk Road, connecting East and West. Today, the Talas Valley attracts travelers with its natural beauty, warm hospitality, and atmosphere of antiquity.

14:00 – Departure to Taraz (Kazakhstan)

En route, you will see an interesting architectural landmark of the Soviet era — the Kirov Reservoir Dam. Located amid mountain landscapes, it is a symbol of the region and a cultural heritage site of the late socialist period.

Arrival at the border and completion of border formalities.
Continue to Taraz, a legendary city in southern Kazakhstan.

Evening city tour of Taraz — a pleasant and atmospheric introduction to the city.

19:00 – Dinner at a restaurant
During dinner, you will meet a local entrepreneur who will gladly engage in an informal discussion about local culture, history, and the natural heritage of southern Kazakhstan.

Morning sightseeing tour of Taraz.

You will visit:

  • Aisha-Bibi Mausoleum — an 11th–12th century monument famous for its exquisite terracotta decoration and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Karakhan Mausoleum — built in the 11th century, dedicated to a ruler of the Karakhanid dynasty and a fine example of medieval architecture.

Arrival in Shymkent.

14:00 – Visit to Ken-Baba Ethnopark
A cultural park reflecting the traditions and lifestyle of the Kazakh people, featuring traditional yurts and ethnographic exhibits.

Drive towards the Kazakh–Uzbek border.
Border formalities and entry into Uzbekistan.

Arrival in Tashkent.
Hotel check-in and rest.
Evening sightseeing tour of Tashkent.

20:00 – Dinner at a restaurant
Dinner in the company of a well-known local personality, who will lead an engaging conversation about the history of Tashkent.

09:00 – Breakfast at the hotel
Enjoy the calm morning atmosphere of Tashkent before a full day of exploration.

10:00 – Guided tour of the historic center

Visit:

  • Hast-Imam Complex — the spiritual heart of Tashkent, home to the famous Quran of Caliph Uthman.
  • Barak-Khan Madrasah — a 16th-century architectural monument.
  • Tilla Sheikh Mosque and Mausoleum of Kaffal Shashi.

12:30 – Walk through Chorsu Bazaar
Visit one of the oldest oriental markets in Central Asia. Tasting of local spices, fruits, and traditional flatbread.

13:30 – Lunch at a national restaurant

Culinary master class on the famous Tashkent pilaf or shashlik at a popular local venue.

15:00 – Trip to Charvak & Chimgan (optional)
Excursion to the scenic surroundings of Tashkent:

  • Chimgan Mountains — ideal for walking and enjoying nature.
  • Charvak Reservoir — a popular recreation area with opportunities for swimming or boating.

19:00 – Return to Tashkent
