Author’s trekking along the Fergana Range: From Kurpsai to Arslanbob, 7 days

The beauty of this trip is that the trekking route goes through places that are not visited by tourists. Local shepherds and hunters go along similar routes. This trek is into the wild nature of the Fergana Range, which means that these places are distinguished by their unknown and beauty! And so it is. The Fergana Range is one of the most attractive and mysterious mountain ranges in the Tien Shan. It is located from the southeast to the northwest, separating the Fergana Valley from the Inner Tien Shan. The Fergana Range is a separate world, unlike other ridges. Therefore, trekking or hiking trips along the Fergana Range are some of the most tempting, filled with adventures in unexplored places. Trekking along the Fergana Range is a real adventure expedition! Due to its high-mountain nature and the diversity of landscapes, trekking in these mountains is a test of physical fitness and a unique opportunity to enjoy untouched nature.
Trekking takes place at altitudes from 2000 to 4000 m. The distance of daily transitions is from 15 to 20 km. The amplitude of altitudes along the route is from 500 to 3145 m. Equipment, food and your things are carried by porters. Trekking is not difficult and does not require special training. After the trip, tourists can come to both Osh and Bishkek and return home from there. But we offer you the city of Osh to touch the local oriental flavor and relax after trekking.

For safety and convenience, you must have mountain sports boots, walking sticks, sunglasses, a hat, a sleeping bag and a mat (if not available, you can rent one), an individual first aid kit


Program

If you arrive in Osh early, we will go straight to Tash-Kumyr, where we will stay in a guest house. Perhaps one of the places that is rarely visited by tourists is Tash-Kumyr. It is located on the bank of the Naryn River, where it is surrounded by red savannah from the west.
If you arrive in Osh in the afternoon, today you will have time to rest in the hotel.

Early in the morning we set off to the starting point. The trail begins from the Kurpsai tract. The end point for today is in the valley of the Katta-Kara-Archa-Sai River. Tent camp in the shade of the juniper forest.

Trekking continues up the picturesque Sazy valley to the Sazybel pass, 3063 m.
The trail goes from one ridge to another, from where stunning landscapes open up. Next is the Kenchimal pass, and we come to the Kara-Kul lakes. In the mountain cirque at an altitude of 2100, there are several lakes that make up the main landscape. Rest in a tent camp.

In the morning we leave the campsite and go along the trail to the Karakoldavan pass, 2909 m, and then an amplitude transition to the campsite in the Sere tract, in the vicinity of the magnificent Köl-Kupan lakes. Here is one of the dominant Muslim sanctuaries of Duban-Mazar. The camp is surrounded by mountains and under the dominant peak of the Fergana Range - Baubash-Ata. There are alpine meadows, numerous grottoes, rock paintings and phenomenal landscapes. Night in a tent, 2150 m.

The trail passes under ridges and peaks, glaciers are comfortably located in rock cirques. Skirting the top of Baubash-Ata, we move to the On-Tamchy pass, 3145 m.

From the pass there are magnificent panoramas of the forests of Arslanbob. Then the Kara-Alma pass, 2008 m and after 4 km we are in the legendary Arslanbob. Accommodation in a guest house.

On the way, excursion to the architectural and historical complex Uzgen, IX-X centuries.

In Osh, check-in at the hotel. Dinner at the ethno teahouse.

We will provide a car to the airport or at the Dostuk checkpoint
