Trekking through the legendary Djeptyk Pass to the Alai Valley, 5 days
This is an incredibly beautiful journey through the Alai Range. The Djeptyk Pass became legendary after the famous first Alai-Pamir expedition of the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1928. Also known as the Soviet-German Alai-Pamir expedition. The Djeptyk Pass was the only accessible passage through which one could get to the Pamirs. The first expedition was attended by legendary figures of Soviet scientists such as: N.P. Gorbunov, D. Shcherbakov, N. Korzhenevsky, O. Schmidt, N. Krylenko, as well as famous German scientists and mountaineers: Willi Rickmer Rickmers, Eugen Allwein, Erwin Schneider, Hans Biersack, Philipp Borchers, William Frederick Reinig. The outstanding achievements of the expedition were the first ascent to Lenin Peak, the expedition members discovered the Fedchenko Glacier, passed the Muksu Valley, conducted research in the area of Lake Karakul in the Pamirs, etc. Today, the Dzhiptyk Pass is a relatively easy passage from the Fergana Valley to the Alay Valley, and a popular place for hiking. The pass offers an incredible view of the northern ridge of the Pamirs.
The hiking route starts from the yurt camp at the Dzheptyk-Bulak spring located at the foot of the Dzhiptyk Pass, then the Dzhiptyk Pass, descent to the Sary-Mogol village.
After mountain trekking, you will visit the foot of Lenin Peak (7134 m), going to the “lukovaya polyana” (3450 m) in the Achik-Tash tract (Pamir)

Trip to the Kozho-Kelen tract. In Kozho-Kelen, an excursion - acclimatization. An easy walk to the pink waterfall. Kozho-Kelen is famous for its incredibly beautiful landscapes, waterfalls against the backdrop of monumental rock giants made of red siltstone and sandstone, and of course, incomparable local color. Here is one of the famous sacred grottoes with a lake inside. The grotto is the most dominant cult place for pilgrims of the entire Fergana Valley. Accommodation in a yurt camp located in the picturesque place of Djeptyk-Bulak.
The trail to the pass runs along a beautiful gorge against the backdrop of mountain peaks. The ascent to the pass will take about 7 km \ 5-6 hours. From the Djeptyk Pass, 4185 m, a view opens onto the Alai Valley against the backdrop of the Pamir seven-thousanders. In good clear weather, the view is 360 degrees. A short break for a photo shoot and a descent along the Djeptyk-Suu River to the village of Sary-Mogol. The walking distance will take about 7 km \ 1 hour. On the way, you will be met by a car and taken to a guest house in the village of Sary-Mogol. Rest. Dinner.
Excursion trip to Lukovaya Polyana, 50 km through the Achik-Tash valley to the foot of Lenin Peak, 7134 m. Overnight in a guest house in Sary-Mogol.
Return to Osh along the legendary Pamir Highway. The Pamir Highway is not just a mountain road, it is a museum of landscapes and beautiful scenery. Having overcome two passes and intermountain valleys, you will cross the Alay Range. In Osh, check into a hotel.
